Town Agencies Trust & outcomes

What is law list verification and how does it work?

When you attach clients to an agency request, Acquit automatically checks the published law lists to confirm each client is actually listed at that court on that date. A verification badge appears next to each client in the request drawer.

What the badges mean
  • Listed (green): confirmed in the law list at the correct court and court number.
  • Court Mismatch (amber): in the law list, but in a different court room than you specified. Shown for larger courts (e.g. Brisbane, Ipswich, Southport) where court numbers are significant.
  • Wrong Courthouse (red): for Brisbane matters, the client is listed at a different physical building (e.g. Roma Street instead of 363 George Street). This is critical because the covering lawyer could go to the wrong courthouse.
  • Not Found (red): the law list is published for that date but the client does not appear in it.
  • Pending (grey): the law list has not been published yet for that date.
Alerts for serious discrepancies

A wrong courthouse or a client not found triggers an in-app notification and an email alert to you and the covering lawyer (if someone has accepted). Court number mismatches at larger courts trigger an in-app notification only.

Tip: Verification runs again automatically whenever the law list is updated, so if a client’s court number changes overnight you’re notified before court the next morning.
