Ticking Ignore mentions in the Find time form lets days that only have plain Mentions on them rank as Free.
By default, a plain Mention marks the day as “Mentions only” rather than free, even when it’s otherwise wide open. That’s usually too conservative: a sentence or short appearance often fits comfortably alongside a mention, especially at the same court.
With the toggle on:
- Days with only plain Mentions on them rank as Free.
- The mention’s actual time slot is still blocked: a 9am mention still rules out a 9am search.
- The card notes what’s on the day in the detail line (e.g. “1 mention on the day, treated as free”) so you don’t lose sight of it.
What still blocks the day
The toggle only loosens plain Mentions. Notice to appear, Mention (appearance required), all-day court entries, and any appearance type with a name (Trial, Sentence, Bail, DVO Mention, Callover) still block the day regardless of the toggle. Those are appearances where you actually need to be there.
