Town Agencies Requesting cover

How do I assign a request directly to someone from chat?

If you’ve already arranged an agency with a colleague in chat, you can create a request that’s instantly assigned to them, with no need for them to find and accept it in the marketplace.

There are two ways to start:

  • Chat header: click the Create assistance request icon in the chat header toolbar.
  • Message menu: click the three-dot menu on a colleague’s message and select Send direct agency. Their name is pre-filled automatically.

Then:

  1. Fill in the court, date, and client details as usual.
  2. Select your colleague from the Assign To dropdown (pre-filled in a direct message; in a group chat you choose who to assign).
  3. Click Assign Request.

The request is created as already accepted, appears in the chat with Accepted and Direct badges, and your colleague is notified immediately.

Note: If the assigned person can no longer help, they can withdraw, and the request moves to the marketplace as a normal pending request for someone else to pick up.

Tip: Selecting Post to marketplace in the Assign To dropdown skips direct assignment and publishes the request normally.
