Record Outcome on a court date’s detail drawer records the whole appearance: what happened on each file, bail, and any next dates, in one save.
- Open the court date’s detail drawer and click Record Outcome at the bottom.
- Pick what happened from the grouped list: Adjourned for Mention, Listed for Sentence, Plea of Guilty, Sentenced, Dismissed and so on. The list opens on Adjourned; change it if something else happened.
- Give a continuing outcome its next date, time, court and room. Leave the date blank if the new listing is not known yet.
- Set the bail result if it changed (a warrant issued and released takes the matter off the list, so it cannot carry a next date).
- Click Record outcome.
When one file ends and the rest continue
Sometimes a single appearance produces two results: a breach of bail is dealt with as a plea of guilty while the substantive charges are adjourned. Click Add another outcome and use the Files row on each entry to say which file each outcome covers. A finalised outcome scoped to a file also completes that file on the client’s Charges tab, with the matching charge outcome filled in. The matter itself stays live until every file is finished, so it keeps appearing on your outstanding lists until then.
Several next dates from one appearance
Where files split to different dates or courts, or a District Court matter is listed for several steps at once, give each outcome entry its own next date. Every date is created and synced to your calendar; the first one carries the adjournment link, and the others stand alone on the matter.
Finalising a matter
When every entry is a finalising outcome, the date is marked Finalised, drops off the outstanding-outcome list, and stops the daily diarise reminder. To reverse a mistake, open the … menu and choose Undo Outcome: the record is cleared and any Charges-tab changes are put back.
Note: the mobile app’s Record an outcome card saves through the same path, so an outcome recorded at court shows up here identically.
