Calendar & Court Dates Court dates & events

How do I set a default length and start time for new court dates and events?

You set three court session defaults under SettingsEvent defaults, and Acquit pre-fills new court dates and events from them. Court entries are usually session blocks rather than appointments: a morning list runs 9am–12pm, trials run all day.

  • Default duration: from 30 minutes up to 3 hours (morning list) or Half day (4 hours).
  • Default start time: pre-fills the start on new entries. It also places court dates that arrive without a time (for example from a QLD Courts lookup), so they land at 9:00 AM instead of floating untimed.
  • Trials default to all-day: when on, choosing Trial as the appearance type pre-selects all-day (you can untick it), and trial dates imported without a time become all-day blocks.

Every change saves immediately; there is no Save button.

Changing times on a single entry

On any court date or event drawer, pick a time from the dropdown (15-minute steps) or type one straight into the field: 2:07 pm, 9am and 1435 all work.

Tip: Changing the start time of an existing entry shifts the end time with it to keep the same length, so a 9:00–10:00am listing moved to 10:00am becomes 10:00–11:00am.
