When you run Case Lookup on a saved client, a results drawer opens comparing what QLD says against what you already have, and you choose what to apply.
Auto-reconcile applies the safe additive changes (new court dates, new file numbers) in one click; conflicts such as prison moves or drifting dates always need a per-row Apply.
How the comparison works
The drawer never offers a date you already have. If you hold that day at that court, it offers to fill in what is missing (usually the file number) instead. Wording is compared by meaning, so your Lengthy Plea of Guilty is recognised as the listing QLD calls a Sentence. If your existing dates have no file number yet, the drawer offers to attach the lookup’s number to them.
Placeholder files
A placeholder file like MAG can be renamed to the real number, carrying its charges and nickname across: always your choice of Rename or Add as a new file, never automatic. The rename is only offered when exactly one placeholder and one new file sit at that court, so it never has to guess between candidates.
