Can I assign a new lead or client to a colleague?

Yes. The intake form’s right-hand column has an Assign to colleague card: pick a firm member, add an optional note, and choose how to send it.

  1. Pick the firm member under Hand this lead to.
  2. Add a note for them if it helps (“Call after 5pm, wants a quote re: a DUI”).
  3. Choose Save & assign to create the lead and hand ownership over now, or Save as draft if you only caught a name and the gist. Acquit saves a draft for your colleague to finish, pre-filled with what you captured.

Either way, your colleague gets a notification and an email, and an assigned lead shows a banner naming who sent it and their note.

Where drafts wait

Drafts appear in a Drafts to finish strip at the top of the Leads tab, for both the sender and the assignee, where they can be reopened or discarded. A draft is not a live client until it is finished.

Staying on the file

If you are a Solicitor, Clerk or Support member, tick Keep me on this file to stay on as a collaborator after handing it over. Firm leadership (Owner, Co-Owner, Admin) and the practice-manager account already see every member’s files, so the option is not shown for them.

Reassigning a saved lead

Firm leadership and the practice-manager account can reassign an existing lead using the Assign button in its page header.
