Town Agencies Requesting cover

What is a collection request and how do I create one?

A collection request asks another lawyer to collect material (briefs, disclosure, CCTV) from a prosecution agency on your behalf, with no court appearance needed.

  1. Open the Town Agencies page and click New Request.
  2. Switch to Collection mode using the toggle at the top of the form.
  3. Select your client(s) from the dropdown. You can search existing clients or type new names, and multiple clients are supported.
  4. Enter the collection location (e.g. “Southport Police Prosecutions”, “Brisbane CDPP”) and describe what needs to be collected.
  5. Optionally click Add date if there is a deadline for the collection.
  6. Submit the request.

The request appears in the marketplace with a Collection badge, and any lawyer can accept it.

How collection outcomes work

Once completed, the helper submits a simple outcome report (Collected, Partially Collected, or Unable to Collect) instead of the full per-client outcome stepper.

Note: Collection requests don’t use agency email instructions or print briefs, so use the description and notes to communicate what’s needed.
