A collection request asks another lawyer to collect material (briefs, disclosure, CCTV) from a prosecution agency on your behalf, with no court appearance needed.
- Open the Town Agencies page and click New Request.
- Switch to Collection mode using the toggle at the top of the form.
- Select your client(s) from the dropdown. You can search existing clients or type new names, and multiple clients are supported.
- Enter the collection location (e.g. “Southport Police Prosecutions”, “Brisbane CDPP”) and describe what needs to be collected.
- Optionally click Add date if there is a deadline for the collection.
- Submit the request.
The request appears in the marketplace with a Collection badge, and any lawyer can accept it.
How collection outcomes work
Once completed, the helper submits a simple outcome report (Collected, Partially Collected, or Unable to Collect) instead of the full per-client outcome stepper.
Note: Collection requests don’t use agency email instructions or print briefs, so use the description and notes to communicate what’s needed.
