How do I change my password?

You can update your password from the Security tab in Settings.

1. Go to Settings → Security.
2. Click Change password next to the Password field.
3. Enter your current password, then type and confirm your new password.
4. Click Update Password.

For your security, the change signs you out of all other devices: only the device you changed it on stays signed in. You also receive a security notification email.

Note: Resetting a forgotten password signs out every device, including any you don’t recognise.

Password requirements

Your new password must be at least 12 characters long. We don’t require any specific mix of uppercase, numbers, or symbols: a long passphrase is fine, and usually stronger than a short complicated one.

We check every new password against the have-i-been-pwned database and reject anything that has appeared in a public breach.
