Click the button in the email (Accept Invitation or Complete Sign Up) and follow the prompts.
- If you already have an account: sign in and click the accept button on the invite page.
- If you are new: complete a short registration with your email and firm name pre-filled. The invite link already proves you own this email, so we skip the verification code: just set a password and enter your name and role.
- Complete the short onboarding wizard (your role and practice areas, client import, calendar connect, theme, AI features, and profile photo).
Once joined, your subscription is covered by the firm: no individual payment needed.
Note: Invite links expire after 7 days; if yours has expired, ask your firm admin to resend it.
Your clients come with you
If you have been using Acquit on your own account, joining puts your existing clients into the firm’s client pool. Everyone at the firm can then see them, including court dates, tasks and notes. The accept page tells you exactly how many clients that is before you click.
Your clients stay allocated to you, so your alerts and calendar matching carry on as they are. You or a firm admin can re-allocate a file later if the work moves. If you leave the firm later, which files go with you is settled then.
Duplicate files
If you and a colleague were both acting for the same person, you will each have your own file for them. Acquit spots those and tells your firm admins, who sort them out on the Duplicates page. Nothing happens to your files without someone deciding.
Joining without an invite
Register with your work email and Acquit will detect your firm and offer a Request to Join option. Your admin is notified and can approve you with one click.
