The Case Timeline tab on a client’s profile shows every court date, court event and milestone in one chronological feed per matter, newest at the top.
Each matter has a header with its file number(s) and next appearance. Linked files merge into a single feed with a small chip on each row showing which file it belongs to, and court dates not linked to any file sit in a section at the bottom, where you can assign each one to a file inline. Click any confirmed item to open its drawer and edit, reschedule, or view full details.
Reading the icons
Past items show a checkmark, adjourned items a refresh icon with the adjournment note below, milestones a green flag, and upcoming items an open dot. Trial dates carry an enriched card with trial number, estimated duration and judge. If a client has both summary and indictable matters, filter with the All / Summary / Indictable toggle.
Law list matches
Possible appearances found in the court law lists appear as muted Law list match entries with a dashed icon and a match-type badge (Exact, Likely, Possible, and so on). To confirm one as a court date or dismiss it, switch to table view using the toggle in the timeline header; both views show the same listings.
Duplicate hearings
When two linked files are listed for the same hearing (same day, court, and courtroom), the timeline shows one entry carrying both files’ chips. If they were entered as two separate court dates, the entry offers Merge into one date, which combines them into a single date linked to both files and removes the duplicate calendar event.
Deadlines and milestones
Deadline events (brief due, disclosure due) let you record when the material actually arrived: click Late? on a past deadline and Acquit calculates the delay. Add milestones with Add Milestone in the timeline header, or record one when completing a related task.
What else appears
Court dates a colleague schedules on your file appear the same as your own, and a line at the bottom marks the date the file was opened in Acquit. The compact strip on the client’s overview shows the same progression for the matter with the nearest appearance, with a “+N other matters” link when the client has more.
