Smart Matching suggests creating a client or lead record for any name in your diary that isn’t one of your clients yet. Turn this on with the Auto Suggest Clients toggle in Settings → Smart Matching. Suggestions wait in the Smart Matching queue for your review.
How suggestions are grouped
The queue groups suggestions by person: one header per name, with every date found for them underneath. The header’s Add client and Add as lead buttons create the person once and attach all their dates in one go. If someone with exactly that name is already on your list, the existing record is reused rather than duplicated.
Adding with full details
A card’s own Add as lead / Add as client buttons open the full intake page pre-filled with everything Acquit knows: the name, and for website enquiries the date of birth, phone, email and enquiry notes. Complete any remaining details and save. The record is created, the date is attached, and the suggestion leaves the queue.
Duplicate protection
Before suggesting a new client, Acquit checks for an existing client or lead with a very similar name, including close spellings. If one is found, the notification reads “Possible existing client” and the suggestion card shows a “Looks like” line naming the existing record. Both lead with a Link button that attaches the booking to that record in one click.
Link, New matter or Add as new
Alongside Link, a New matter button opens a fresh matter for that person and attaches the date to it: the right choice for a returning client with a new charge. Add as new is still there if it really is a different person.
Linking from the intake page
The intake page runs the same duplicate check as you type. If the person is already on your list (as a client, a lead, or an archived file), a Same person option appears under the warning: one click links the appointment to their existing file instead of saving a duplicate. An archived file is re-opened at the same time, as a lead from the New Lead page or as a client from the New Client page. The Same person, add a new matter button stays available when it really is a fresh engagement.
Starting with an empty client list
If you have no clients in Acquit yet, this section suggests importing your client list first. Every date found attaches to the right people as they arrive.
