How do I record a finalised matter from a file note?

The file note has a Finalised row under the For row: Sentenced, Plea of guilty, Dismissed, Withdrawn, Nolle / NETO and Other. Tick one when the matter ended at that appearance and leave the next date blank. When you save the scan, Acquit closes the matter the same way Record outcome does: it drops off your outstanding-outcomes list and the reminders, and where the tick says how it finished (a sentence, a withdrawal) the charges on the client are updated to match. Other ends the matter without touching the charges.

The For row is different. Ticking Sentence there means the matter is adjourned for sentence on the next date, so it stays open.

If both are ticked

A sheet with a next date and a Finalised tick is a contradiction Acquit will not guess at. The next date is kept and the tick is written into the outcome notes. When one file finished while the others were adjourned, record that from the matter itself, where you can pick the file.

Sheets printed before the row existed

They still scan as before. The Finalised row simply shows blank in the review step, and you can set it there if the matter did finish.

The courtroom you actually sat in

The courtroom is printed on the sheet, not read from your handwriting, so a list moved from Court 20 to Court 19 on the morning needs a quick correction in the review step. On the desktop and on the phone, the Courtroom field starts as the listed room; change it and the court date is recorded in the room you sat in, the magistrate suggestions refresh for that room, and your magistrate vote is filed against it rather than the room the list named.
