Town Agencies Covering for others

How do I submit an outcome report after covering a matter?

Once the court date has passed, you submit an outcome report from the request to let the requesting lawyer know what happened.

  1. Open the request from your Helping tab. Past-date requests sit in the Needs Outcome Report group.
  2. Click Submit Outcome to open the outcome report stepper.
  3. Work through each client step: select the magistrate or judge, record outcomes (e.g. Adjourned for Mention, Listed for Sentence, Plea of Guilty), set bail status, and add any directions or orders with due dates.
  4. Review the summary on the final step, optionally rate the experience, and click Submit.

The requesting lawyer receives the report by email and in-app notification, and Acquit creates suggested court dates from the outcomes for them to accept or dismiss.

Note: You can edit an outcome report within 24 hours of submission by clicking Edit Outcome on the request detail panel.

Until the report is filed

The request stays in the Needs Outcome Report group even after you mark it complete, until the report is filed. You can still file the report if the request has expired in the meantime.
