You can lodge the court’s online adjournment application from Acquit without re-typing the file details. It works for Magistrates Court matters anywhere in Queensland and Brisbane District Court criminal matters; other District locations and the Supreme Court have no online form.
- Open the client and click QLD Courts → Adjourn Online, or click it in the court date’s detail drawer.
- Pick the matter. The sheet lists every upcoming court date, reads the court from the listing, and sets up the right form. If it picks the wrong one, switch with the Court selector at the top.
- Fill in the application. A Magistrates matter asks for proposed dates, reasons, orders sought, bail status, prosecutor and file numbers. A District matter asks for the action sought, whether counsel is briefed, and (for a pre-trial application) what it concerns.
- Submit. The court’s form opens in a new tab, pre-filled by the Adjourn Online extension. Check every field, complete the reCAPTCHA, and lodge it with the court.
- Return to Acquit once it goes through. The court date shows an Online adjournment filed confirmation with the filing time and the court’s reference.
- Click Confirm adjournment in the court date’s drawer when the registry allocates the new date, and enter it in the Adjourn & Reschedule form.
The old listing is marked adjourned and linked to the new one; until the registry allocates a date, it stays in your upcoming dates in the filed state.
Note: Acquit only prepares and pre-fills the form: nothing reaches the court until you press submit in the court’s tab, and you tick the District form’s acknowledgment yourself.
Drafts
Your answers are kept as a draft on that computer for 7 days when you hand off to QLD Courts. If the lodgement fails on the court’s site, reopen Adjourn Online and click Restore draft on the banner at the top: every field comes back. Discard clears it.
