Clients Matters & court dates

How do I add a court date, event, or task across several of a person's matters?

Pick the client once, then tick which of their matters the entry applies to. Client pickers in the Add Court Date, Add Event, and Add Task forms list each person once, even when they have several matters.

  1. Pick the client as usual: one entry per person.
  2. Tick the matter(s) in the Matter row that appears. The matter you opened the form from is pre-ticked; use All matters to select every one.
  3. Save.

Each ticked matter gets its own copy: on that matter’s Case Timeline, on your calendar, and (for court dates and events) as its own synced Outlook entry.

How the copies behave

The copies are independent once created: editing or deleting one does not change the others. Linked charge files stay with the matter you started from; the copies on other matters are created without a file link. Archived matters are never offered in the chooser, only active ones.

Note: the Town Agencies request form instead lists each matter separately (“Name · matter description”) so you can pick the exact matter the agent is covering.
