Firm Management Delegation

What is delegation and how does it work?

Delegation lets a firm admin temporarily grant one team member access to another member’s clients, tasks, court dates, and Town Agencies requests. This is designed for covering a colleague who is on leave, sick, or otherwise unavailable.

  1. Open the Firm Console and click the Delegations tab.
  2. Click New Delegation.
  3. Select the absent member and the covering member.
  4. Set a reason (e.g. “Annual leave”) and optional start/end dates.
  5. Click Create Delegation.

The covering member sees a banner at the top of their dashboard showing who they are covering for. They can switch between their own data and the absent member’s data using the banner buttons.

To end a delegation early, click Revoke on the delegation card. Delegations without an end date stay active until manually revoked. All actions taken while covering for someone are logged in the firm activity feed with an “acting as” label.

Note: Only firm owners, co-owners, and admins can create or revoke delegations.
