Community

What are the Community directories?

The Directories section is a shared contact book for Queensland criminal practice, maintained by the whole Acquit community. It covers:

  • Court contacts: registrars, listing officers, and coordinators.
  • Judges’ associates: associates to named judges and magistrates.
  • Police prosecutions: prosecutors and sergeants in charge of prosecution rooms.
  • Police stations, prisons & corrections, watchhouses & court cells.
  • Court Liaison Service and other contacts (probation & parole, restorative justice).

Entries show names, roles, phone numbers, email addresses, and notes, organised by region.

Suggesting an edit

If a contact is out of date, click Suggest an edit on the entry to propose a correction, a removal, or a brand-new contact. Suggestions are reviewed before they go live, so the directory stays reliable.

When correcting an entry, change just the fields that need fixing. Anything you leave alone stays as it is, and clearing a field (say, a disconnected phone number) proposes removing it from the entry.

Adding a new entry

Only the name is required, and it doesn’t have to be a person: an office, registry, or after-hours line works too. A name plus one phone number or email is plenty.

Extra contact points

An entry isn’t limited to one number and one email. Click Add contact point in the suggestion form to add extra labelled lines under the same entry, such as an after-hours number or a second registry address. The label is optional, and each point just needs a phone or an email.
