Clients Adding & editing

How does a firm import decide where clients go?

The import wizard’s Allocate to setting decides where each imported client lands: with you, with a colleague, or in the firm pool for whoever picks it up.

Every row also has its own Allocated to dropdown, and a Responsible Solicitor column in your export splits the batch across members automatically; names Acquit cannot match are flagged and left on your batch default.

What allocation means

Allocation decides whose match alerts fire and whose list a file lands on; everyone at the firm can still see every file. Files left in the pool are claimable from the firm pool page, and until claimed their match alerts go to the firm’s nominated unassigned-clients member.

Rows the firm already holds

These are flagged with a choice of Use the existing file (the default for file-number and name-plus-date-of-birth matches) or Import anyway. A firm admin can merge any duplicate later from the firm console’s Duplicates page.
